Have you ever heard of the BlackFoot Nation? Well that is the Indigenous group I am telling you about. I did not know anything before . Here is my project

 

We were asked to learn about a indigenous nation and make a slide document about them.

 

I think learning about indigenous is not fixing what we did but help learning about what we destroyed (which is kinda depressing) 

 

The thing that makes them diverse is when the European settlers thought all of the indigenous groups were the same. But they have different languages and religious traditions in different areas of Canada and the US. 

 

Here are some facts I learned:

• There are many different type of indigenous groups across canada and the US
• The arrival of horses in early 1000 transformed the travel of Blackfoot – this is pretty cool
• They had a rich coulter of games and leisure activities
• This is pretty funny! Pranks and jokes were their favorite pastime! Adults were the last ppl i expected to pull pranks and kids enjoyed traditional games. Like spinning tops, it is like dreidels and beyblades – which is pretty cool!
• The Blackfoot people were known to be the strongest military powers on the north western plains!
• The live in present day Manitoba
• Blackfoot warriors called themes levs LORD OF THE PLAIN
• Oral language in additional to sign language – no matter who you were you could understand them
• The Blackfoot peo[ple were nomadic; they followed the Buffalo – their main source of food!
• The blackfoot tribes believe this is how the world was created. 

 

It would be helpful and important and helpful to learn about the history of the indigenous people and how they believe the world came to be!

Well, first you must be wondering how life Bar/Bat Mitzvah is When you hit the age of Bar/bat mitzvah. Well, you become an adult and get full responsibility for your Judaic life such as getting to decide if you wish to keep kosher or take part in service at shul and more. If you have ever walked in on a weekday service you may have seen people wearing black called tellin.

You may have seen people wearing black boxes called tefillin on their arms or heads because after the second temple was destroyed they wore it to connect with God with prayers. We used to connect to God by sacrificing animals but when the second temple was destroyed we had to stop doing that and connect to God with with prayer. To make it even more holy, We used a prayer shawl. The black boxes mean like they symbolize the mind and the soul. Inside the black boxes, are Torah versus the Shema which is rare. The most interesting about this entire thing was probably that there are special snails called Chilazon that die tzitzit blue and they thought they were mythical snails that only came out on full moon but actually, they were seasnails. I have no further questions.

 

At the beginning of invasion day, I had the jitters I was so scared. Then I presented my project to my parents and my partner’s parents. This was the first time we presented to someone for real. we presented a few more times to others. Everyone that we presented to said it was good others said it was amazing. This made me lose the stress and jitters. The next day we presented to the judges then the jitters came back. Then the first judge came she said it was really good. My pattern said the same about my performance the one bad thing that happened was my dyslexia it had kicked in mid-way through. After that, it was all gone once again but forever this time. I will fix it by practising more.

Pour la fête de Pourim je me suis habillé comme moi-meme. Parce que  je suis plate.  Je n’aime pas tout les autres costumes. Parce que je n’aime pas Pourim, c’est comme un faux Hallowe’en avec des pires bonbons.

This term we learnt about Baby naming, Brit Milah, Pidyon Haben, and Shalom Zachar these are important because it shows personal Judaism.

this is my Mishpacha project. It’s all about my name and where I came from. I learnt a lot about my family history. For explain I learned that I’m Ashkenazim and some of my family is from Russia. If I did more I whed leand more about were I come from.

This term in Social Studies we learned about Canadian identity. We explored diversity among the provinces, national symbols, and international organizations that Canada plays a role in 

 

What makes Canada diverse:The benefits of being different are not the same. In a friends group, you need different types of people to make a good and stable person. People have different roles such as an idea guy (me!) the glue (holds the group together) and then there are the smarts. Everyone brings a different strength and quality to make the group better. A stable friend group is a rainbow. Diversity can positively impact a community because it adds character to all of the residents, which means that you can tell your story. Everyone would have their own story and they would have this because of the character. You build this character by interacting with other people and hearing their stories. When you are a part of a diverse community it brings personality, you learn to deal with other people and not be a jerk and see the differences in everybody.

 

Nunavut and PEI are different. Nunavut is snowy and holds some of the largest groups of indigenous people. But PEI is warm and ‘isandly’ and has European ancestry. The Natural features in Nunavut are different from PEI because Nunavut has ice and mountains and has colder temps. In PEI, Natural features in PEI have dunes, barrier islands and beaches, sand pits and associated wetlands.

 

In Nunavut, Iqaluit, is the largest community in Nunavut. The population is more than 7,740. Arviat is the second largest community with a population of approximately 2,657.  Eight other communities, including Cambridge Bay and Rankin Inlet, have populations of over 1,000 people.

In PEI, the capital and largest city is Charlottetown. However, Belfast is the largest city by land area. The smallest city by population and land area are Tignish Shore and St. Louis.

 

The climate in Nunavut is different from PEI because Nunavut is cold. Winters can be very harsh. In Iqaluit the temp drops to -27°C. In -32°C in Pond Inlet. Summers can be quite nice, with temperatures ranging from  11°C in Baker Lake in July to 6°C in Hall Beach. PEI’s climate is very beautiful and has nice Summers, between June and August, ranging from 21°C and 26°C. Sometimes it can go up to 32°C. Winters can be cold and snowy from November to April. The temp can be -3 to -11 degrees.

 

In PEI,the biggest industry is  building industries including; aerospace and defense Jobs. This is different to Nunavut, where lots of people do arts and crafts, hunting, fishing, tourism and transportation as jobs. Economy in the territories such as Nunavut is not, they don’t have lots of the goods so they import. Things like food and building materials cost a lot more. 

 

Canada is a bilingual country. In Quebec, people speak mostly french. They are called francophone and in the rest of Canada mostly english. They are called Anglophones.

Nunavut is located in the North of Canada and is one of three territories. Finally, PEI is located in the east of Canada. It is near the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia. This collection of provinces is also called  the Maritimes.

Today I will show you my Canada A Diverse Nation Project. The goal of this assignment was to learn about diversity. We watched a video that showed us how diverse Canada was a country.
